Registration Dates

Online registration OPENS March 1, 2019.

Online registration CLOSES Thursday, August 15, 2019 at noon.

Saturday, August 18: Race day registration will be available at the start and will close 45 minutes prior to the official race start :

17 Mile Start Line, Morris Street Boat Landing until 9:15 a.m.

8.5 Mile Start Line, Eureka Dam Campsite parking lot, until 10:00 a.m.

Entry Fees

Early Registration: March 27 through July 24.

Early bird fees are $35 per paddler 8.5 mile course and $40 for each paddler 17 mile course from March 1 through July 24.

Note: two-paddler teams in the short course and no contest classes only may carry up to two passengers.

Entry fees increase to $45 (8.5 mile) and $50 (17 mile) per paddler, July 25 thru race day (Note: race day registration is by cash or check only).

Online registration deadline: Thursday, August 15, 2019 at noon.

Passenger fees in the short course and no contest classes remain at $5 per passenger and will not receive a T-shirt.

Registration is limited to the first 200 craft.

You are not guaranteed registration on Race Day.

  • Entry into the Race The Fox
  • Commemorative T-shirt
  • Post race Live Entertainment, ear of corn, burger or brat and drink at the Fox River Runners Corn Roast at Scott Park in Omro, WI
  • Medals will be awarded based on participation in each class. For details, see the awards page.
  • Shuttle to either the 8.5 or 17 Mile Start Lines (this is available to all registered participants)

*Note: No T-Shirt will be provided to those registering after the pre-registration deadline date!

Highly Valuable Information

Safety rules and other event rules

Participants need to be aware that this is an outdoor event, and that we have no control over weather and related conditions, nor can we patrol or be at every point along the river. Paddlers and passengers take on personal risk and personal responsibility by participating in the event.

The organizers do all they can to make the Race The Fox 8.5 & 17 mile race as safe as possible. The threat or occurrence of extreme weather or other emergency may cause the event to be interrupted or cancelled. Any participant who violates the event’s rules and regulations as set forth on this website will be subject to disqualification at the discretion of the race officials.


All participants and passengers must be registered and sign an official waiver of liability.

No participant’s entry will be accepted without a signed waiver form.

Boat Numbers and Starting Times

For entries received by Thursday, August 15, 2019 noon, pre-assigned race numbers/packets will be available at the 17 mile or 8.5 mile Registration Table at the respective Start Lines for the event for which you have registered. Registrations not received by Aug 15th will be assigned boat numbers and start times at the appropriate Registration Table.

Pick up deadlines are:

- 9:15 a.m. for the 17 mile race at the Morris Street boat ramp just south of Berlin,WI.

- 10:00 a.m. for the 8.5 Mile Race at the Eureka Lock parking lot.
